Downtown Seattle just received a nice shot in arm. The Seattle Times is reporting that Target Corp, the big box retailer has aquired a fantastic three story space in the Downtown Seattle corridor. Considered by many as the West Edge, this 2nd and Pike location is a phenomenal space for the large retailer. It will be at the base of the Newmark Condominium tower.
It is reported that Target paid $15.5 million for the property, according to King county records. The purchase also includes a 250-stall underground garage. While it may be close to two years before the store is built this is a tremendous upgrade for many condominium owners. As the City of Seattle continues the urbanization of its downtown core, many condo owners will benefit.
