The urban-concept Target store that we wrote about years ago is finally opening its doors – this week! The new store, named “CityTarget” is located on 2nd and its just one block from Pike Place Market. Seattle is one of three locations opening this Wednesday. The others include Los Angeles and Chicago. According to the Times, Downtown Seattle’s population has increased 72% from 1990 to 2010. Target executives, like many others, are pretty bullish on the downtown Seattle core. Check out the detailed graphic featured in this weekends article (via the Seattle Times):
Many Seattle condo owners stand to benefit from these developments as well. Projects within walking distance of the new opening include 1521, Newmark, Four Seasons, Escala, Cristalla, Market Place Tower, 98 Union, Madison Tower and Millennium Tower. If you plan on checking it out, keep in mind that parking is only validated on purchases of $20 or more.
